In my imagination, I am young and present on the sixth day…

Creation, so beautiful and full of wonder appearing to my mind

Beginnings of nights and days lasting for eons ‘till this very day

Waters separated and formed into the vast oceans and small streams

I see them winding down stately mountains to valleys through sunlit paths

To where life is teeming in all forms of plants, animals, birds and sea creatures

Bringing potential life forms in mysterious genetic keys that are unseen to me

And on this day, the sixth, God created a specific man, Adam,

And through him, generations … epochs and eras were born

All of humankind chosen on that day, and we are among the chosen…

I think almost everyone has experienced the morning before awakening.  I sometimes wonder what is the equivalent of those who have been at work all night and are now entering sleep instead of waking.  I love morning and its mystery…what will happen today that I will find memorable.  I think I may have exhausted the possibilities and then….comes the surprise and wonder….

         Beginning a New Day

          'Twas morning

And daylight creeping

Through tall trees

Chasing deep darkness away

Penetrating the unconscious mind

As it catches a fading glimpse of

An angelic figure vanishing

As daylight divides the dream

And dreamer with wakening eyes

While nocturnal music fades

Gradually replaced by the sounds

Of the earth…gurgling waters

From a nearby waterfall

As the dream has fled

Gradually replaced by

Crisp chirping sounds of birds

As the waking dreamer

Is still longing for the dream

Regarding My Guardian

An angel watches over me

God’s gift from all eternity

I wonder how she would appear

And how is it that she’s always near

In times of danger or fall from grace

In love she leads me to a safer place.

Imagining that angels are not all the same

I wanted to give her a most fitting name

In heaven, with so many angels there

A small bright Michela, waits for me
